14 Day Road Trip To Portland and Back

Its what you have been waiting for ... The 14 day road trip! I have a few hundred more photos with my regular camera but i figured i ought to just stick to my favorite camera(Which by the way begins in San Francisco because i did not have film until i got to San Fransisco). Although with this trip i will not be narrating the the story as well as i did with the the Santa Cruz road trip, i hope you enjoy what i have for you anyways :D.

:San Francisco:

The Golden Gate Bridge

:Mendocino County / Northern California:

Floating houses

:Oregon:

Wood sculpture thing with purple water that looked like silk.

Orange that took me half an hour to peel.

Almost there...

:Portland, Oregon:

Just arrived! First Hello's!

Walking to Last Thursday
with Rachel and her friend Sydney!
It would have been nice to see more of her,
But she had homework :(
haha

Last Thursday - Where the freaks come out at night..
I fit in just perfectly :)
Smoking loon, Fake psychics, sea monkeys on stilts, music music music,
and dancing to box guy on the corner.
Followed by
Walking with the bums, drunks, and the messed up...
Then eating some Voodoo donuts, the most amazing donut shop for anyone that is
out at midnight.
And the only people out at midnight would be....
I think we all know.

Rachel and Nicole's Lovely Apartment Building

We decided to take a stroll through town.

And on that stroll we met a couple of kittens that were looking for a home in the
 80 - 90 degree weather.

Ace Hotel.

The most amazing store on planet earth.

Market on the campus.

These tamales were AMAZING.

We finally found you my friend!

Enjoying an organic coconut and agave popsicle.

Always having wonderful conversations with random people :)

Bishops.
One of the most rad barbershops ever.

Brews at bishops.

Ben & Jerry's Ice cream after a fresh hair cut.

China came through town.

Walking the streets after browsing through books at Powells...
The largest bookstore i had ever been in, in my entire life.

Bum chick and her puppy on the corner.

This guy just so inappropriately was taking a shower on the street while driving.

"Please do not cross the street!"
"No problem, we wont officer"
"Alright thanks... cause man do you know how much paper work
i would have to do if you guys got ran over? SOOO MUCH paper work.
And i really dont want to do it... so thanks you guys"

Walking Home to ready ourselves for the parade!

But before we hit the busy streets,
Jeremy and I strolled down Burnside to have ourselves
 some sushi

Sushi Pizza...
MMM so good

Saying goodbye.. :(

But with oh so much spice.

On our way to Rachel's old dorm to her bike off her hands.

African Food at the Saturday Market..
Open on Sunday!

This old guy was really cool.

Chugaku

Oh yea, Jimi was chillin' in portland.
 no big deal or anything..
"You guys aint from around here! You look like rock stars, thats what you look like!
You belong in hollywood!"

"Give the camera to your wife, so you can get a picture with me too"
Haha

Nub Guy taping a pick to his nub so he can play some tunes.

Really awkward..

On the road again...
Goodbye Portland...

Beautiful Clouds.

All of that electrical shananigans to the right,
I thought was a play set.

Our campground was just to the right.
Occupied by only four campers.

Story time.
There were no marked doors that indicated whether one bathroom was a girls or a boys,
It was dark, really dark
so we thought well there is only 3 other families here so we ought to just go into the same bathroom cause were just washing our faces and brushing our teeth.
so we did...
But the heavy business comes first so we went into the stalls and you know..
Pee'd.
So Jeremy was a couple of stalls away because they were all short..
and then someone walks in.
Spy Lady - "This is the girls bathroom!"
Jeremy - "Oh im sorry i thought it was co ed."
Spy Lady - "Hell no it aint! You need to get out right now!"
*walks out door*
Spy Lady - "Were not in california!"

:California:

Hello California!

On our way up,
we drove along a river called the Smith River.
I noticed a few swimming holes
and we promised ourselves that we would swim in one of them...
Rain or shine.
So we did...
and on the only cloudy/cool day of our trip.

Jumping rock!

I had to wear Jeremy's wet suit.. and it did not fit very well...
So i hung out on the longboard as he swam.
A truck stopped on the bridge to take a look a this rare sight.
But were in California now.
So its cool.

Oh! The sun came out!

Just meditating on a longboard in a river... you know.
Just everyday biz.

Right after we met Merlin and a couple of people from Portland.
He told us about the rocks he collects, his favorite is one of a guy smoking a joint.
Merlin was cool.
He did this really crazy handshake swing dance move thing with me and went,
"You just got wizzed by the Wizz!"
Then kissed my hand.
It was interesting.

This dog was wearing designer sunglasses.

Dancing, dancing, and more dancing.

We initially went to this beef jerky stand, (which were ran by inbreds)
to buy elk jerky.
They did not have it.
So we bought buffalo jerky and deer jerky.
And he said if we came back he would give us a free elk jerky.
Well we did.
He apparently did not remember us.

Jeremy trying to fold his mirror in
so we can barely make it through this Giant drive through tree.
It was stuck.
So we had to back out.
I saw defeat in the Avenue of the Giants that day...

I realized i was starving because of my poor driving ability
and fidgetiness.
So we stopped quick before the sun went down
to eat our peppered salami with cheese on dinner rolls..
Luckily we stopped at the only spot that didn't have trees.
This is what we just so happened to catch before it was gone.

After driving through the most foggy, winding, narrow, and dark road of my life..
This is what we woke up to.
Surprisingly it was the cheapest camp site we stayed at.
And we had no idea where we were or what it looked like.
We woke up upon a cliff of the beautiful Northern California coast.

Another Bet..
I had to chug an Amp because i did not remember the song was by Mum.
1 Loss For Nikole
2 Losses for Jeremy

Stopped off on the 1 to check out the horses.
They do not trust humans.
I wouldn't either.

Cliff Cow.

One of the many bay towns.

We hit my aunts house just below San Francisco, then drove to Santa Cruz.
Thanks to a good friend of mine, who i like to call Merv...
He let us crash in his friends parking lot he was staying at for the night.
In the morning, Jeremy finally caught the first waves of the trip.
He was pretty ecstatic.

We drove to Big Sur there after and stayed the night there.
A place where Blue jays will Eff a brother up.

Story time.
On the way up we stayed the night at the same camp ground we stayed at on the way down..
it was morning and i was fixing my hair..
When suddenly i hear some commotion...
The commotion was a blue jay that flew full speed into a rock right next to the van.
This broke his neck,
and as i had just turned to look,
i saw him flopping on the ground trying to get up.
Thats when another blue jay came flying down like a bullet and knocked him down again!
He then proceeded to peck at the obviously, almost dead blue jay.
4 more blue jays flew down and started chirping a chirp of war.
Thats when we were surrounded by all of the bluejays of the campground
and war was screaming from the trees.
That blue jay died.
No.
I meant to say MURDERED.

Surf was suppose to be no good in Big Sur this particular day...
So we started driving up the coast to hit the beach one last time
in hopes that it may be good.
We just so happened to look to our left.
Finding the only decent place.
Which turned out to be the most amazing beach ever.

The waves got better and better throughout the day.

Very, very, very, very happy.

Roots of the flowers to the right.

Entrance to the secret spot.

The sky was beautiful all the way home.
